Overview
The Iraq Humanitarian Pooled Fund has provided $32.3 million through its First Standard Allocation in 2016 to address most critical needs under the 2016 Humanitarian Response Plan.
The Health, WASH, Emergency Shelter and Non-food Items, Protection and Food Security Clusters received the largest allocations. Around 60% of the total amount allocated went to national and international NGOs, and 40% to UN agencies.
In line with the allocation strategy to prioritise support to newly displaced people and strengthen capacities where displacement is expected imminently, 55% of the funds are supporting activities in Anbar, Nineveh, Salah Al-Din and Kirkuk Governorates.
In 2016, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden have contributed a total of US$14.5 million. Additional contributions are urgently needed to enable further, prioritised allocations humanitarian needs continue to escalate.
